Birmingham Grammar Schools have announced the score which will allow a child entry into schools.
When will results arrive?
Results will arrive by Friday 18th October 2019. This will the give you plenty of time to complete your Local Authority Preference form by 31st October. At this point you’ll decide whether to include any Birmingham Grammar Schools on your form. If your child does not achieve the qualifying score they won’t be considered for a place so you shouldn’t put them on the form.
As the answer sheets are marked by computer there are no remarks available. The result that comes through on the letter will be the final decision as to whether they have gained a place at grammar school. Remember, the tests have been standardised to make sure differences in age don’t affect a child’s chances at entry.
Birmingham catchment changes
Due to the catchment changes these scores may not be relevant for children in the catchment, as it is likely any child above 220 will receive a place. However for those out of catchment it may give an indication of which schools are likely to be best to go for depending on your child’s grades.
When will I find out if my child has a place?
Your Local Authority will make offers on 1st March 2020, or the next working day. If you need more details on this, check the Local Authority website.
When you completed your preference form, you will have done it in order of the schools you wish your child to attend. If your child meets the entry requirements to more than one school, the school listed top on your form will allocate them a place.
