History: Handsworth Grammar School for Boys is the newest addition of the King Edward VI schools, having joined the King Edward VI Academy Trust Birmingham in September 2017. Previously the school had attained excellent results and it hopes to go from strength to strength with this new partnership. Handsworth Grammar School was opened in 1862, so it pre-dates many of the King Edward VI schools.

Facilities: King Edward VI Handsworth Grammar School for Boys, like many of the other King Edward VI schools, maintains an impressive set of original buildings which have been thoroughly refurbished inside. Impressively, should you wish to look round the school, there is even a tour using Google maps through their website. The school has a quantity of world class facilities and the library has had a recent refurbishment making it a truly 21st century workspace.

Sport: The sports that pupils take part in at King Edward VI Handsworth School for Boys follow the usual choices of hockey, rugby and athletics whilst also incorporating lesser played sports in UK such as softball, dodgeball and short tennis. There are also several extra-curricular sports to take part in, which provide an additional layer to the confidence building approach of the school.
