To start off the year we have fantastic Smart 11+ events coming up that we what to share with you.

So, let’s get into it!

Smart 11+ events:

January 22:

The Creative Writing Competition!

That’s right during this cold, wintery month we want to give you the chance to express yourself through creative writing. We are running a competition to help you develop those much-needed vocabulary skills in a fun and exciting way!

Wait, is there a prize?

Of course! If you win, not only will you be published on our Blog, but you will receive a £50 Amazon Voucher!

Who’s the judge?

We are super lucky and incredibly proud to announce that the award-winning author Andrew Norriss will be judging the competition. Andrew Norriss author of The Unluckiest Boy in the World (2006) and Archie’s Unbelievably Freaky Week (2012), as well as multiple children’s television series including Woof (ITV), Bernard’s Watch (ITV) and Aquila (BBC). Andrew will be reading the entries and choosing a winner!

February 22:

Half-Term Creative Writing Course.

We are delighted to announce that – back by popular demand – we will be running another Creative Writing Course this February half-term!!

The course will run across two days and will be in our Solihull Tuition Centre – Tudor Grange Academy.

So what will we learn?

Loads of stuff! You will learn how to write creatively and persuasively. To understand the difference between descriptive writing and writing with literary devices, tone, and originality. You will be taught by experienced English tutors and will come away as young creative writers, having written your first extended narrative piece, formalised writing and even a play!
